Wild Wild West Steampunk Convention 2017 was a pleasure this year!
Wild Wild West Steampunk Convention 6 is America’s first and only Steampunk convention and festival that takes place in a western-themed town. After incredibly successful events in 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 we’re very excited to make this year’s convention larger then ever before!
Steampunk is a subgenre of science fiction or science fantasy that incorporates technology and aesthetic designs inspired by 19th-century industrial steam-powered machinery.
Steampunk perhaps most recognizably features anachronistic technologies or retro-futuristic inventions as people in the 19th century might have envisioned them, and is likewise rooted in the era’s perspective on fashion, culture, architectural style, and art. Such technology may include fictional machines like those found in the works of H. G. Wells and Jules Verne, or of the modern authors Philip Pullman, Scott Westerfeld, Stephen Hunt, and China Miéville.
Etiquette is a code of behavior that delineates expectations for social behavior according to contemporary conventional norms within a society, social class, or group.
Don’t be a Gatekeeper in life!

TusCon 43 was a great time! This is always one of our last and favorite Conventions of the year.
TusCon is known as “The best little Sci-Fi, Fantasy & Horror Convention in Arizona.” This title is definitely lived up to year after year as a little over 500 attendees join together each year in November in Tucson.
Each year we need to thank the Baja Arizona Science Fiction Association (BASFA), a southern Arizona non profit group who sponsor the convention year after year sharing such amazing professional writers, film producers, artists, gamers and so much more!
This year we were all treated to meet the guest of honor George R.R. Martin, known for his Series A Song of Fire and Ice and the HBO Series “Game of Thrones”. It was great getting a signature on his work as well as some lucky folks one a complete set of signed books at the great charity raffle.
TusCon had such a great mix of medias and entertainment this year. Not only did the great game track have Artemis and a weekend full of tabletop games and Roleplaying games but this year the gaming directors made sure there was over night games for those night owls like me who love to avoid sleep and game when there’s no panels…
Oh and the Panels! This year there were so many great panels going on and some great new panels like Madame Askew ‘Iron Tailor’ and Tinker Cosplay’s ‘Making Costumes, Weapons and Props out of foam’ these artist have a ton of skills and huge hearts in openly sharing what they love and teaching their skills and craft.
Speaking of Iron Tailor we Livecasted it in parts and I’ll be cobbling it to YouTube by the weekend on out channel HERE! You will be in awe at the costumes these two teams make in less than two hours!
So much more to come…
What was your favorite parts?
BTW TusCon 44 is already announced their guest of Honor!

This was a heck of a great weekend from seeing all my Yearly Steampunk friends and family that we only get to hang out once or twice a year to listening to the wonderful concerts sharing the music of Dry River Yacht Club and Steam powered Giraffe Friday night and than getting to Punk out with The Men who will not be blamed for Nothing and the interesting instruments of the Peculiar Pretzelmen.
Doctor Q you were a BRILLIANT MC for each evening’s concert and the closing ceremonies! He was out there dancing, joking and singing with the audience and I know Kellie was giggling for a long time after getting to dance with him, and OMG He is an EXCELLENT swing dancer as Lady Ember Sparks and Doctor Q were tearing it up and the dance floor!
The Bands were great, and on the same nights at the Con hotel, the Double tree, Airports where not only did they have the opening ceremony Featuring Unwoman and DEVM and early ticket pick up on Thursday night but they also had Events like Friday night : Tipsy Tea Dueling with Madam Askew, the theatrical Midnight Seance’s each night the astonishing Aiden Sinclair (and I actually got to join the show and hold a civil war artifact that actually communicated to me which son she lost during the war!) and the Saturday Spectacular Cirque des Betes Burlesque Show!!!!!!!

In March we’ll be going to Wild Wild West Con and wondering what pictures and panels you’d be interested in us covering?
Also Some of us were talking and if our Patreon group hits a goal of $100 for March we can go to Con-Nichiwa and get some great pictures and video to share, so let us know what you think?
I have to ask for our new Star Wars game group they want to be set in the same timeline as the Star Wars Rebel showfour or five years before A New Hope begins. What Planet would you like to see a Rebel Cell on? If you have another vote please leave a comment!
Ord Gimmel (From Wookieepidia: Ord Gimmel was a planet located on the same path as Sullust, acting as a trade hub and manufacturing center. However, it was also war-torn, with its queen having mysteriously disappeared in 1 BBY, a year before the Death Star was destroyed over Yavin 4. During the Galactic Civil War, this was one of the planets on which the Alliance to Restore the Republic was stationed.)
Chandrila (From Wookieepidia: Chandrila was a planet in the Core Worlds of the galaxy. Thefemale human Mon Mothma hailed from Chandrila, and represented her homeworld in the Galactic Republic’s Senate. Following theBattle of Endor, Chandrila became the capital of the New Republicand the seat of the newly formed Galactic Senate as a tribute to the Republic of old.) )
Ord Mantell (From Wookieepidia: Ord Mantell was a planet that housed a base of operations for the criminal syndicate Black Sun during the Clone Wars. A battle was fought on the planet between the Shadow Collective, in which Black Sun was a member, and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. During the Galactic Civil War, Han Solo and the Rebel Alliance encountered a bounty hunter on Ord Mantell.)
Corusant (From Wookieepidia: Coruscant (pronounced /’kɔɹəsɑnt/ or, more rarely, /kəˈɹʌskənt/), originally called Notron, also known as Imperial Center or the Queen of the Core, was a planet located in the Galactic Core. It was generally agreed that Coruscant was, during most of galactic history, the most politically important world in the galaxy.)
I am so looking forward to the release this week! (I should be seeing it Friday night!

2015 Helldorado days in Tombstone, October, 16, 17 and 18!
”On October 24, 1929. the headline of the Epitaph read. “WELCOME TO HELLDORADO.”
Helldorado Days are Tombstones yearly celebration in October with festivities ranging through the weekend with a ton of shooting displays by the great Tombstone Vigilantes! On Friday once festivities start the fun continues with continuous entertainment every ten to fifteen minutes with over 25 different entertainment groups from gunfighters, line dancers, cowboy stories, music. However my Favorite part on Sunday the Parade that starts at 11 and has an awesome list of groups in it every year, and from my last three year’s experience Guy Ashly form our local news is part of the procession and he enjoys taking his own pictures of parade goes and onlookers alike!
This year I was honored to be part of the Tucson Steampunk Societies “20.000 Leagues under the Sun” Themed group! It was a fun time with lots and smiles, laughter and salt water taffy!
Nemo was striking an awe inspiring look at the head of the parade followed by the colorful mermaids then the lovely dancing bathing beauties, though they had to dance fast since the menacing Giant Squid was trashing and flailing after them and Captain!
But don’t worry the Captains brave Mariners and Hunters were bringing up the rear!
However I was lucky enough to catch a lovely tropical fish on the parade and carry her off 😉
Here’s some of my choice photoshoped pictures of my friends!
If you liked these please check out the Tucson Steampunk Societies Facebook page more fun pictures (easily over 150+)and upcoming events (of which there are a lot coming!)
…And Our group took the Curly Bill Brocius Award!
“Wyatt Earp, huh? I heard of you.”
